Re: What about antidepressants?

Did you ever find out your estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels Twinkl?
Going from 28 days to 38 menstrual cycle is possibly indicative of 'estrogen withdrawal bleeding'.
If the amount of days of bleeding has changed, heavier or lighter - all these changes indicate hormone changes. Having small changes are normal but not a 10+ day change in cycle...and sudden change in bleeding quantity/texture etc.

I had menstrual changes 2 yrs before any AF symptoms. I discounted them. I shouldn't have and really regret it.
I'm awaiting an MRI of the pelvis as hormone results show lack of ovarian function. One lab commented my levels are of a woman without ovaries! I'm only 35. Men have more estrogen and progesterone than i have! The symptoms are complete hell. Low E and P, high T consistently give anxiety in both genders.

I now have a doctor and specialist on board to try to find out what's causing low functioning of adrenals and ovaries.

Adrenals always are impacted when other glands go awry.

High testosterone seems to be on an axis with cortisol as studies show...high T = low C and vice versa.
Men with high T (which causes anxiety in itself) are prone to low C (which again, can cause anxiety aswell as high C). Treating adrenals is the wrong route really as it's the high T (or Low E/P) causing the adrenal compensation.

I had more anxiety while on an adrenal protocol. Way more. Couldn't stop shaking, perpetual sweating. Feeling of on the verge of my legs giving in all the time.

I stopped the protocols and it's took a few months to calm the system down to anxiety levels which i can cope with. Despite doctors wanting me to go on HRT, im waiting for diagnosis results and then i'll decide how to treat.

When i tried bio-identical progesterone for a few days i felt soooo much calmer within hours of taking it. I didn't know back then the severe deficiency i had of P.

I've been looking into estrogen studies and rats that have had their ovaries removed immediately exhibited 'inhibition' behaviour and anxiety. When supplemented with estrogen (E2) they became more sociable and less inhibited within the HOUR.

There are many studies like this and it's remarkable to read from the scientists conducting these studies comment 'Conventional treatment of anxiety and Depression fails most patients and hormone diagnosis and supplementation could offer permanent relief'.

^^Those kinds of conclusions will seriously hurt the financial income from benzo's SSRI's etc. These studies span decades and their findings don't make 'mainstream'.

Both men and women are subject to deficiencies of both Est. and Prog. but very rarely is this angle explored. The adrenals will always compensate if these hormone levels have changed.
So we all think we have AF. Yet the root cause is not adrenal dysfunction is most cases.

Another angle to remember is that one day testing is giving a 'snapshot' of hormone levels. In women this of course changes dramatically over the month. In men, this can also change.

I would recommend a saliva hormone panel which covers around 6-11 readings throughout the month of T, Est. & Prog for both genders.
There are a few labs that offer this - it's also possible to get in touch direct and request this.
