Re: Can we have a Paleo Diet debate forum?
1- The paleolithic diet is what people ate when they never got sick. -- The only evidence we have of ancient man are scattered fossils and this in no way gives us a complete picture of overall health, I'm sure they were living very short lives compared to our modern life. Also, there are so many factors in our modern life that induce disease; if you examine native cultures, the evidence shows that it is the natural diet and lifestyle that provide health regardless of the amount of flesh products consumed.
2- You have never tried it. That's true, I have never followed it 100%, but I have followed diets close enough that I can deduce that it is harmful for my personal health. Generally, the larger amount of flesh foods I add to my diet, the worse I feel, I have found this time and time again. I have also read plenty of other posts of people that experience many terrible side effects from following a paleo diet, you can't just simply ignore these people and say they must be doing something wrong, it is silly to ignore anything that goes against your personal beliefs.
3- From guesses based on archaeology and modern experiments, the true paleolithic diet was pemmican; maybe a herb now and then. -- I need to do more research on this subject, it is very interesting to me, but even if this is correct it still does not tell me that is absolutely the best diet for humans, it could be they just ate what they could get their hands on.
4- In our time there are so many poisons in our environment that we need to add the
Iodine protocol to heal, but even without the iodine, it works better than anything else. -- You just hit on another topic I strongly disagree with, the use of
Iodine as a nutritional supplement, this is something else that did me a lot of harm put my whole system into overdrive and made me feel terrible, another forum that refuses to listen to honest people saying terrible side effects that they experience.
