Vitamin B-12: Methylcobalamin; Adenosylcobalamin - My Experiences with Both
I had nasty issues with my heart (palpitations, ect.). It started up out of nowhere. Went to see a GP about it a few times, and eventually, around this time last year, I got a Holter monitor. When the GP saw the results, a referral to a Cardiologist came next.
The Cardiologist said it was arrhythmia, and benign, however I could choose to take a medication for it if I wanted to, lots of people do. I refused the offer of medication. He seemed happy I refused it. He kept the offer open if and when I changed my mind.
So OK. Cool. Fine and good, but it still the heart problem wasn’t going away. And really, the issue with my heart was only one health concern among many. None of which any medical professional I’ve visited has been able get a handle on –- even when I got to take an ambulance ride after blacking out. I’ve been sick as hell; yet I’m walking around without an ‘official’ diagnosis of anything. At first, it was pretty surprising to be that sick and yet be told I was 'normal', but I’ve since learned this is not unusual.
Anyway. Onward. :)
Fast-forward a few months; to February this year... this lady I know of has
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome and heart issues. She's going to Dr. Nancy Klimas. Klimas has certain OTC supplements she tends to recommend to people. One of them is Vitamin B-12 (Methylcobalamin). I'm having the symptoms of CFS, too, so I figured it was worth a try.
Went to the local health food store. Picked up a bottle of Vitamin B-12 (Methylcobalamin). Solgar; sublingual. I took it shortly after returning from the store, and within a short period of time my heart did a little dance in my chest... then calmed down. Considerably. It was way better than it was before, starting that very night.
Went to DirectLabs, got a vitamin + mineral panel to check for deficiencies. From the results, deficiencies of vitamin D, K, B-12 were evident.
These incidents put me on the path to researching and experimenting in an effort to find ways to actually heal.
Another curious thing that is B-12 related: one of the symptoms of my mystery illness is that my muscles get so, so tense. Maybe inflammation is /was the cause of this. Not sure. But in my research, I discovered a supplement I’m sure some of you heard of called Adenosylcobalamin. As Methylcobalamin is a type of B-12, so is Adenosylcobalamin. I found one called ‘Dibencozide’. Source Naturals is the manufacturer of this one, methinks. Again, immediate benefit occurred from taking this supplement, some of the tenseness subsided right away.
I know I’ve learned a lot by just reading forums like these. Seeing the patterns; reading your stories. Maybe someone might read this and discover something that might bless them. Thank you, to everyone that shares what’s going on with you. <3
