Im new to this syndrome, and new too the community.

Hi guy, Im a 21 year old male, who has yet to visit my local doctor, but am quite embarrassed about the situation i am currently in. Ive just recently started doing research with what has been going on with my body and came to the point that i might be a victim of TMAU (Trimethylaminuria), I came to this conclusion well... Because i have a very foul fish like odor coming off my body.

So, heres my story...

For the first 15 years of my life, i was a happy kid, not a care in the world, and then one day after high school football practice... The odor came... I got home and was wondering why i was giving off such a foul smell, i thought it was just from me sweating from playing, but then I took a shower, got out, still smelt it in the air. That was my first experience. It only happen about 3 - 4 times during the rest of my sophomore year, and about half way into my junior year... During my junior year i picked up smoking cigarettes and marijuana, Also in this year i experienced smoking meth, i was smoking meth for about 2 months but not daily, just something that happen like once or twice every 1 or 2 weeks during that year, but that came to a stop quickly, and thats when the odor started to pick up more, but it wasnt still wasnt happening as often, but then that was when all hell broke loose, the bullying, the jokes, the laughs, the people avoiding you, everyone, I became that... Weird, loner, fishy smelling guy no one wants to be around, it ruined my life, dropped out of highschool, social life died, the worse was my family, they tried to ignore the fact of what was going on, tried to cover it with lies, and just avoid me any chance they could... Soon after all this, i turned 18, and got a job, i was working as a stock boy at my local grocery shop, and this is where everything starts to get all confusing for me. From this point, the odor pretty much completely stopped, i only smelt it every blue moon or when i was alone by myself in my room, i thought it was just from me not smoking meth, because ive heard meth can also cause you to smell strange, so i was just like alright no more meth, but continued to smoke cigarettes and weed. I lived a year and a half pretty much odor free in public, around my family, my friends, i was seeing that happiness was picking up again. Around the time of my 20th birthday, i was on the local bus coming home from work, and look who decides to pay a visit, mr. odor, even though i wasnt directly looking towards people, i had felt that ALL eyes were on me, and pulled the string, got off the bus, and walked the rest of the way home... From that day on, the odor is still around, it happens all the time when sweat, or just at random times when im just sitting my room. I had quit my job due to embarrassment, cut off everyone from my social life, i myself avoid my family because they seemed more happy when i didnt smell like a dead fish. So, this is when i began my online research, started looking up this and that, and that and this, hoping i could find the answers for my problem. I came too accept that, there is no cure for this situation currently... This slowly tore at my heart, cause i mean... Who would wanna live the rest of their life smelling like a dead fish? I certainly dont want too, but have too... and im sure all of us on this forum have too to. So i did a little more researched and came to learn that the food we eat also causes the odor, and thats another thing i dont get, growing up as a child, middle school, even during highschool, i was eatting all these exact same foods fine, perfectly, nothing wrong, no odor, just only so often. Ive also read that this was a gene related issue, so shouldnt i have been smelling like a dead fish when i came out of my mom? or even growing up? i love eggs, egg yolks was always included in all my egg dishes, so why didnt this happen when i was younger? like is this something that develops over time? Im tryna figure out how i lived my childhood not smelling like a walking garbage bag almost everyday, like i do now & if this is something that developes over time, i hope i dont grow old to be 50 and smelling like... god who knows what... Ive also read about the ways to prevent the smell and what not, and i was wondering if you guys could tell me the best Antibiotics for dealing with TMAU and also some cheap deoderant, body wash, body spray anti antiperspirant i could use. I have so meny questions i want answered, but completely understand that TMAU is a rare coincidence that theres possibility theyre arnt even answers... So im hoping you all could help me, tell me everything you all know, im 21 years old and i wanna be outside in the world enjoying my life, but i cant just because of the embarassment that i smell like a rotten dead fish, Like i havnt gone to the doctors to get diagnosed, but as much as i would love too... I just... dont wanna deal with that, So i came online for some help instead.
