Since people are living much longer these days and you're parents are nearing their retirement years, I strongly suggest that they should make a purchase now. Long term care is very costly and without coverage, your parents might end up exhausing their assets. So while they still have time, they should inquire now or better yet they should start comparing quotes now. They may be healthy now but because of their old age, they might develop a condition or disease that will require long term care. It's better to be safe than to face the future without coverage and besides purchasing this insurance product is much cheaper than paying for long term care out-of-the-pocket.
