Mirena just out!

Hello,
I am so overwhelmed with all this information. I find that I have had alot of the same issues as most IUD users! Including the Vit D deficiency which I was specifically told by my doctor WAS NOT related to the Mirena. I just had it removed 5 days ago for several reasons, they are as follows:

*I had reached my 5 year mark
*Vaginal swelling
*severe itching after intercourse
*IBS
*headaches
*breast tenderness
*general pain of entire abdomen
*MOODY MOODY MOODY

Now what I dont understand is the doctor told me ALL of this was normal due to the fact the IUD was reaching expiration! She said it was the irregular amounts of estrogen my body was now receiving. She also scared the heck out of me by saying it could take 6-8 wks for this all to go away!!!! I thought she was going to tell me that I had some sort of bacteria or something was wrong. I guess Its better this way but she didnt even test me further ??? should I be worried or wait the 6-8 weeks...I mean I feel as if I have a baseball shoved up my who-ha it is so swollen. I might add that I have had the same partner for 8 years and I have no type of odor/discharge. HELP???? any suggestions anyone I am particularly interested to know if anyone else has had the swelling problem
