Is it safe to water fast while having surgery??

I am on day 17 of my Water Fast and feeling relatively good. I am scheduled to have cosmetic surgery in 2 weeks and still plan on being on my fast then. Is there any reason why I should break my fast and wait until after the surgery and once I've healed to start fasting again?

My main concern was that the heart rate is affected while on a fast, so I thought being put under anesthesia and so much physical stress wouldn't be good and could cause some health problems.

I won't be put under general anesthesia because it temporarily paralyzes you and stops your natural breathing which scares me, so I've opted to get local anesthesia with IV sedation. This should be less risky, right?

I did not tell my surgeon I am fasting because I know most mainstream doctors are not supportive of fasting at all. I don't want him to use that as an excuse NOT to do the surgery.

Don't lecture me and tell me its bad that I lied please. I just want to know if there is any reason NOT to have surgery while fasting.

Help?
