Hi carophil, hang in there. I'm having unpleasant symptoms, too.

Ears: try the Otrivin saline nasal spray that contains Sea Salt . That helped me with sinuses and throat. Prob would help ears as well, as all the upper resp system is connected.
That was one of ICU's suggestions. And this suggestion:

try a cotton bud with eucalyptus oil on it, inserted into the ear.
