Muscle weakness, Fatigue, last cry for help.
I'm 15.
Male.
Running was, and still is my life.
I'm kind of going on here as my last hope. I used to be a great runner. I ran high school Cross Country. As a freshman, I ran the 5k in 17:30. After Cross Country season ended last year, I was training hard for the upcoming track season, then it all happened. In January I was still running everyday. Not over training. Just a light brisk pace. I started noticing my legs were feeling weak, and that they weren't recovering very well, such as I was sore all the time. I took miles off, still no change, took more off, still no change.. I started going to my chiropractor, and doctor.. They started ordering blood test. After still refusing to give up running, I eventually couldn't even get out of my bed the next morning. So I knew I had to stop. Over the course of this whole year I've had every blood test you could ever imagine. Literally, probably 6 times I've gone to get my blood taken and EACH time they've taken seven or more vials. I've had my heart tested. I've been checked for Marfan's disease. I've had TWO EMG's. Met with plenty of neurologists, rheumatologists, and many more surgeons and other doctors. Nothing. They haven't found one thing out of balance.
My problem is I fatigue very quickly. And if I continue the task that's fatiguing me I'll be very weak and sore for weeks on end.
The weakness is the worst. My muscle will quaver and shake (best described as as a tremor) like it wants to collapse. I have stopped running entirely but as I was working outside all yesterday (which is already enough of a struggle) by the end of the night my leg muscles were giving out and I was getting dead legged. I'm not sure if being in the heat effects it, although it does seem that way sometime. Please, anybody. If you can help me, I promise I'll make it to the Olympics for you one day! Haha. I've also been put on a variety of medicines.
They're best guess is that back in January I got sick for two weeks. Constant fevers and cold like symptoms. The doctors educated guesses is that the virus went into my muscles and is staying in there. The doctor said the virus could stay there for maximum of a year. 2 months from now it'll be a year and I haven't seen the problem get any better. It may be so that it's there but I've been doing some physical therapy activity for a long time (not very physical at all) and I've seen no improvement. None.
Please, anything. -Skyler
P.S, I've been to Columbus and the Cleveland Clinic for this issue.
