Re: Dr Crandall & alcohol
i've tried straight vodka on my candida diet before, when i was kind of in denial and needed something to take the edge off. i figured it would be fine because, technically, it doesn't FEED candida. it set me back A LOT.. i am still dealing with what i think are partially the after effects of my last vodka adventure, and that was months ago. i feel like, after doing so much to clean out my system, the alcohol bogged me down again big time, and feels like it almost broke something inside of me. my liver was working so hard to clean out the toxins from the candida and everything else that the alcohol on top of it seemed to be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
for years i relied on alcohol to help me with my social anxiety, and it was VERY hard to give up.. i still want a drink a lot of the time, but knowing how even sugar-free, straight up vodka affects me, i am able to avoid it.
do yourself a favor and give it up. it can be very very difficult, especially if you have a somewhat addictive personality like i do, but it is worth it. you don't wanna hurt your system further by drinking booze.
