Seborrheic dermatitis - Scalp itching after using coconut oil

hi since i was 17 (im 22 now) i have had SD on my face and on my scalp, i have managed to control it on my face but on my scalp it always flakes and i end up picking them all off then they reflake and the cycle starts over again.

My order of organic coconut oil came today as i heard this was an antifungal, so i heated abit up in the microwave, wetted my scalp then applied the oil and massaged into my scalp, put on a shower cap and waited for an hour to wash it off with ordinary anti dandruff shampoo.

As it was beginning to dry i started feeling this itchy, burning sensation which is still persisting after an hour though just mainly itchy now, the itching itself is not sever, moreso moderate, my scalp is not red but does feel a little tender, especially at the front where the SD is the strongest at.

So i ask could this be a bad reaction i am getting or simply a dye off from the oil killing the yeasts?

Many thanks to whoever offers help :)
