Looking for a QUALITY Gentle Vitamin C for Candida Protocol
I was interested in Mercola's Vitamin C but beside the 'liposomal' issue I just got down to the last ingredient "Paprika"! Yikes! A nightshade!!!
I discovered 2 years that I am sensitive to potatoes and tomatoes so I've been off all nightshade foods and nightshade spices since then. I am also gluten sensitive, not from celiac disease, just sensitive.
I had some mild
food sensitivities for years but 4 years ago I had rectal cancer treatment at CTCA, with chemo, radiation, lots of anxiety and pain meds and infections requiring
Antibiotics and believe I developed an ulcer the next year sadly after I lost my job. Now I think I also have leaky gut and candida w/ rashes along with my hypothyroidism and insulin resistance. The whole reason I am looking for a healthy C is because I am preparing to do a Candida Diet protocol that calls for 3,000 mg of C a day to help with candida 'die off' and removal of toxins. All of these factors cause me to try and be very careful with what I take. I have been seriously working to recover my health these past 4 years. Except for the
food allergies and the itchy persistent rashes I feel pretty strong and have not had any bugs, colds or flu in the past 4 years.
But back to C...I am not at all sure I should chance ordering Mercola's 'liposomal' C since in addition to all those concerns since my cancer treatment I have not found a Vitamin C that does not cause me to have blood in my stool just like NASID's do now. I have tried two brands of C over the past 4 years (one expensive PERQUE Potent C Guard 'Tabsules' Brand and Nature's Way Whole Food Vitamin C ‘powder’ (from organic acerola [fruit], organic goji [fruit], organic kiwi [fruit], and organic amla [fruit]). Both caused small amounts of blood in my stool.
Now I just began testing Gentle-C 500 by Twinlab which has not caused a problem with only two doses so far----but I am disgusted that I see that that one has soy lecithin, corn starch and other ingredients I am unsure of.
I am hoping to find a good GENTLE quality C.
Do any of you know a Gentle quality Vit C?
I might try and get a sample of the Mercola one and hope they or any other potential vendors could send me some samples or if I have to order a whole bottle perhaps it could it be returned with my money back if it does not work for me?
Sometimes I think 'Quality Supplement' is an oxymoron, just think medicinally for short times supplements are needful.
