My success with health so far.
I have made huge strides in my journey for health this year. I have this forum to thank as well as the rest of the internet, because without all of this information on tap I would probably have killed myself by now thanks to overwhelming depression, fatigue, and anxiety. I thought it'd only be helpful to post my success to help out other folks that are on the same journey as me.
Flashback a year from now, Oct 2012. I had a lot of adrenal fatigue. I wasn't so bad that I couldn't work, but I did struggle through every workday as they came. I was incredibly irritable about almost everything that even slightly got on my nerves. When I was in public I remember having extreme bouts of anxiety, especially when people were around. "Why can't these people just let me be". Every now and then especially when stress was crucially high I'd burn out and
Depression would set in.
If I were to rank my level of fatigue according to Dr. Lams site I'd say I was around stage 2 to maybe to 2 and a half. It was bad.
Recently I've found the root of my anxiety problems. Problems I've had my entire life have been due to Overmethylation from homozygous COMT and compound heterozygous MTHFR gene mutations, as well as a whole bunch of other gene mutations. I got these tested at 23 and me and translated through genetics genie. I've just started on working my way through the methylation system now, but it's definitely something to check out if you have adrenal fatigue, anxiety problems, or depression.
Now to the good stuff. I've went through a lot of supplements, machines, diets and so on but Here is what worked for me up until now.
1.Herbs of light Himalayan crystal salts 1000 mg capsules.
I tried drinking unrefined salt water, but it was terrible. I couldn't do it. So I bought these capsules instead. The first time I took one with a tall glass of ice tea I felt like a light bulb went off. My anxiety and fatigue was suddenly better, I'd say about 50% better. My adrenals finally got what it wanted SALT and TRACE MINERALS. My body could finally hold water better and my blood pressure finally went up. Blood was finally able to consistently quench the prefrontal cortex enough to handle the anxiety. For weeks to months I would take 1 to 2 capsules with every drink I had as needed. I would highly suggest reading Dr.Brownstein's SALT YOUR WAY TO HEALTH book, if you're interested. My approach was way more salt liberal then his but at the end of the day you just have to listen to your body.
Side note: Before this revelation I had bought a HEG neurofeedback machine to try to relive my anxiety using biofeedback. The
Science of it was to teach your brain to move blood to the prefrontal cortex. It definitely worked, but was inconsistent. The salt however costed barely anything in comparison to what I spent on that HEG machine and it worked 10000 times better.
2. Alpha Stim SCS.
I bought this because my mind was overwhelmed with excess Beta waves and a deficiency in Alpha waves either caused by adrenal fatigue, overmethylation, anxiety, stress, and not enough blood hitting the prefrontal cortex. I can't pinpoint it, but I felt as if something was going wrong upstairs regardless. It was expensive and I did have to buy it in payments, but it was worth every penny.
This machine seems to get a lot of "it didn't work" comments on internet forums. But most of those people probably didn't stick it out. This thing takes months of consistent daily sessions to work. I've watched the video below millions of times while I was doing it to keep the faith.

When I started with the alpha stim my anxiety felt like it was getting worse, but I decided to stick it out anyway because I always felt so much better when I did use it everyday.
I wrote down every session I used with the alpha stim and you really just have to find what works best for you. For me I kept the level around the 3.0 area for 2 sessions a day for about a couple weeks and the days I had off. The days I worked I did one 40 minute session and then one 20 minute session. About a couple weeks (about 3 to 4)I really started to see some great breakthroughs in my mood.
Eventually I got to the point maybe 2 1/2 months in where I felt like I started getting too many alpha waves then I started scaling it back after taking a break to have my brain reset to every other day to small 20 minutes sessions daily. Now I don't even use it anymore. I feel great. This is the best I've felt in my entire life. I didn't think it would work at first but it has definitely changed my life for the better.
3. Positive Thought
This one sounds really out there and hippie like but it is the most important. Even after the salt and the alpha stim I still found myself getting fatigued at times, and it was due to my thoughts turning on the sympathetic nerve system which demands a lot from the adrenal glands.
After having a brain dominated by Beta Waves so long, I was used to thinking in patterns that were taxing on the nervous system and the adrenals. After studying the sympathetic system and parasympathetic nerve system I started seeing that positive thought actually kept the body in the parasympathetic mode and stopped taxing organs by being in a fight or flight mode. I started a habit after reading this and went a whole month thinking of everything in a positive manner no matter how small it was. I started using the positive space that the alpha stim gave me in my mind to keep myself in the parasympathetic mode. After a month of staying positive, it's now secound nature to me and I don't have to think about it anymore with exceptions to times when times get stressful and troubled.
I am so happy to have made real progress on my journey. At times I thought I'd never see anything happen but I'm glad that I kept going one step at a time. I can't wait to work through the rest of it and do what I thought years ago was next to impossible. Remember to always keep your Vitamin D levels up.
