Graduate student researcher looking for female U.S. Navy veterans that were raped and filed a sexua| assault report. Please help me research this important topic!
Dear Sir/Ma’am
I am a U.S. Navy veteran and 4th year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I am currently seeking volunteers for a research study on the experiences of U.S. Navy women that were raped during their time in service and filed a sexua| assault report. This research will potentially assist in the Department of Defense in updating policies regarding sexua| assault and will assist treatment providers in their work with sexua| assault victims.
To participate you must:
o Have been a women serving in the United States Navy and experienced a rape by a fellow service member during your time in service.
o You must have been enlisted and can currently be either a veteran or retiree, current active duty members are not allowed to participate at this time.
o The sexua| assault must fall under what the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) classifies as rape. Article 120 of the UCMJ specifies rape as Any person who cause another person of any age to engage in contact between the penis and vulva, however slight; penetration, however slight, of the genital opening of another by a hand or finger or by any object, with an intent to abuse, humiliate, or degrade any person or to arouse or gratify the sexua| desire of any person by using force against that other person; causing grievous bodily harm to any person; threatening or placing that other person in fear that that any person will be subjected to death, grievous bodily harm, or kidnapping; rendering another person unconscious; or administering to another person by force or threat of force, or without the knowledge or permission of that person a drug, intoxicant, or other similar substance and thereby substantially impairs the ability of that other person to appraise or control conduct; is guilty of rape.
o The sexua| assault must have occurred between the years of 2005-2013.
o You must have filed either a restricted or unrestricted report about the sexua| assault.

o Confidential and your privacy will be maintained
o As a thank you for participating in this research, the researcher will donate $20 for every completed survey to the Wounded Warrior Project.
