Just because you are on municipal water, does not mean your water is safe, or that you do not need a reverse osmosis system. Yes, the bacteria and viruses are killed, but there are still hundreds of contaminants in the water that can be harmful. And, if you get a reverse osmosis system with a DI canister, the water pH is alkaline, or you can get both alkaline and mineral filters for the RO system. But generally, tap water is at about a 6.5 pH level, so it is acidic already.
