IV EDTA Chelation
I talked with my father's alternative doctor about possibly doing IV chelation therapy. He has been suffering from some neurological symptoms in recent months that can't be explained. Also has been suffering from balance and gait problems for the last 5 or 6 years. He is 88 years old. The doctor ordered a provoked 6 hour heavy metal test after first administering IV calcium EDTA as the provoking agent. We are waiting for the results of the test, which I just mailed out to Doctor's Data today.
Assuming that the symptoms my father is experiencing are either brain circulation or heavy metal related, how would any of the IV chelation therapies benefit him, if, based on what I am reading, suggests that no chelation, whether IV or oral, crosses the blood-brain barrier? Even my father's doctor and the clinic's nurses who administer the IV's say that chelation does not cross the BB barrier. So if that's the case, how can chelation benefit people with brain circulatory issues, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, autism, etc? How can chelation remove plaque from blood vessels of the brain and improve circulation if it can't get in there in the first place?
