Re: Appendectomy incision will not heal... need some help.
Guys,
Sorry I took so long to get back. I’m working and dealing with a lot of crap right now.
I started using the Manuka honey and the incision started to look a lot better. Most of the incision had healed up. I had two small pen head size scabs on the left and right side and no oozing blood or pus. The skin had come together and healed in the center.
I stopped using the honey and I went over 24 hours without any oozing pus or blood. I thought I was in the clear. I wake up the next day and I've got blood and pus on the Band-Aid. One of the little scabs started bleeding and oozing pus. I just don't get it.
So I finally get in to see a surgeon. They told me over the phone that it might be a internal suture that didn't break down like it should have. She looks at the wound and tells me it doesn't look too concerning. She told me she couldn't feel a suture. I don't have a fever and it doesn't really look infected. So I'm lying on my back and it feels like she's stabbing me with something. What she did was pack the wound with Silver Nitrate and put a Band-Aid on it. She then told me to come back in two weeks.
When I pulled the Band-Aid off the next day, most of the silver stuff came off with it and the incision was now completely opened up with a bb size whole the silver was packed into. I've still got a small amount of pus coming out of the incision and it looks pretty nasty. So I'm back to putting the honey on it. I'm going to keep putting the honey on it until it's completely gone.
I feel like there's something going on inside. I don’t think they left anything inside me but I’m going to bring it up when I go back in to see the surgeon. I was talking to an ND a couple weeks ago and he said it sounds like I've got an abscess.
How is this thing going to heal up if I've got an abscess below the surface? Is there any way to clear this up without them cutting me open? Massive amounts of CS?
I'm going to post pics so you guys can see what I'm dealing with. I should have been taking pics this whole time but I wasn't. I've got a pic of the incision after using the honey and I'll have some pics of what it looks like now.
I haven't tried the Cayenne but I'm seriously thinking about it. How do I go about applying it? Do I take it orally as well?
Any other suggestions? I’m really worried they are going to have to do another surgery on me.
I’m probably going to start a water fast for a couple days and then transition into a juice fast. I'm hoping this will give my body enough of a break to heal this wound. Waht do you guys think? Worth a try?
