My daughter had extreme hairloss when she had the mirena. Handfuls of hair would come out at a time and there would be so much hair in the shower after she washed it, it was terrifying. She had always had thick hair but after a year with the mirena it all started falling out and breaking off. She looked like she was going thru chemo it was that thin and she had large bald spots.. After having the mirena removed within a few weeks it stopped falling out and has since grown back in. The hairloss was just one of many problems the mirena caused. I would not recommend it to anyone, it almost killed her! Tweet
