Long term bowel problems

About a year ago Baka got me up in the middle of the night several times to pass some wet stool and a lot of gel. Sometimes only gel. I put him of a rice and boiled chicken diet...and he got better. There have been ups and downs however, and now he is getting really bad again. His Alk Phosphatase levels have also spiked from a normal of 131 to 859. He is 11 years old and had also had some thinning of his hair.

I have been to two vets, with no diagnosis. The holistic vet tried to say he had addison's or cushing's, and the internist absolutely not, that his Alk P levels were not that remarkable and suggested looking at the liver. He actually suggested a liver biopsy...but I declined that. He put him on denamarin...I have only given him one of these (he only needs it once a day_, but he had a strange reaction. This is supposed to be natural stuff.

He already takes Standard Process Hepatrophin. he takes probotics (usually in the form of goat yoghurt) and enzymes.

I am thinking of getting some pumpkin.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong or what else I can do?
