Re: Burned myself with boiling water help

About 5 hours ago, I burned my entire hand with boiling water. Fortunately, I had placed a jar in the fridge with pure aloe gel extracted from the giant Aloe Vera leafs purchased at the Mexican store.

It had been over 2 weeks since I placed the jar of gel in the fridge and I would have all but forgotten about the gel if not for my painful hand. I grabbed the jar, plunged my hand into the cool liquid gel and within several minutes the pain subsided. Unfortunately, the cessation of pain did not last. I removed an ice pack from the freezer and for well over an hour, alternated between plunging my hand into the gel and placing my hand on a cold pack to stop the pain. I am amazed to report there is zero, zilch, nada evidence of any burn on my hand. Just google images of "hand burns from scalding water" and prepare to be grossed out. I saved myself days of agony, along with painful blisters and unsightly scars.

I am going to keep a jar of fresh aloe gel in my fridge in case of another accident. During the summer months, aloe should prove to be a potent healer of sunburn.

The expensive gel in the stores probably lack the potency of the gel right out of the leaf. The Mexican store charged one dollar per Aloe leaf. Three dollars for three Aloe Vera leafs saved my life.
