Re: Best test for Leaky Gut?

There are a few others but the L/M ratio is the most common. It's also pretty much standardised so it should give an easy to compare result.

I have been reading Increased Intestinal Permeability aka Leaky Gut Syndrome by Case Adams which is very informative and enlightening and not very expensive.

Substances used for testing:

Horseradish peroxidase
Ethylenediaminetetraacetatic acid (CrEDTA or EDTA)
Mannitol
L-rhamnose
Lactulose
Cellobiose
Polyethylene glycols of various molecular weights - Polyethyleneglycol 400

Transepithelial electrical resistance testing is a newer test.
