Re: Why?
I've pondered those same questions and more. Human beings are creatures of habit. Once they start some tradition or habit, it becomes difficult to break. Think about it: holidays, addictions, cultural expectations.
Same with organizations, corporations, governments, et al.
Once an entity exists, it is no longer human. It is for itself and its own survival and growth. It complicates the matter as an entity fosters the creation of other entities. For example, look at the growth of the numerous entities created from fear during the twin tower collapse, we have a whole DHS dept. of homeland security et al. that popped up - primed into existence. There is an agenda, the system wants to live and we are its creators. Plus, many people have become complacent panzy azzes. Look out onto the street and notice the overweight, barely alive majority moving about at a slow pace. The police freaking out over minor infractions more frequently, trained to over-react due to fear of any potential harm to themselves (perhaps building up tolerance to their future abuse?).
The cures are suppressed by the system too, the system of profit and patents. Patents keep drugs expensive and provide income to battle cheap cures into obscure quackery regions of existence, regardless of efficacy. The gatekeepers keep the system the same, hardly allowing change that goes against the system. The orchestra of people have lost their humanity and become victims of their own collective efforts, perpetuating the mindless existence of the dancing entities to the obscure beat.
