Why Hilary Would Get My Vote, at least once, if she ran
I met a guy who told me that he was having some problems with the IRS and he could not get out of debt with them. He got behind and asked to be set up on a payment plan. He paid and paid and paid them, but he could not get out of debt. When he called them to discuss this, they essentially told him that he couldn't get out of debt with them, and he would just have to pay the hefty payment every month for the rest of his life. He wrote to his congressman, which happened to be Hillary Clinton and got a letter back from her. She gave him the phone number of some anonymous sounding department of something that didn't sound like much of anything except something official, and told him to talk to so and so. When he called, the guy said something like this, if my memory is serving me correctly-
"I used to work for the IRS, and it didn't take me long to figure out what they were up to. It chapped my ass and I started contacting congressmen and senators just like you have. They knew what I was telling them was true and created a department just for me, to shut me up. Most of the time I just sit over here with my feet up on my desk twiddling my thumbs. But every once in a while they throw me a bone. Today you are my bone. And my advice to you is don't ever pay them another dime. That's it. Just stop paying them money. You have paid enough. And I don't know what will happen if you do, but that is what I would do if I were you. So there you go."
The guy told me that is what he did a long time ago, and now he only works as an independent contractor. I don't know if what he told me is true. I don't even know the guys name. It was just somebody I met up in Dallas at a hotel when I was just passing through. We were both bored and lonely and decided to have dinner together and talk. Maybe he was just pulling my leg. But he got Hillary a vote by telling me that story. And I don't usually vote for people until they have proven themselves.
I did not vote for her husband the first time, because I wanted to see how things went before committing. But when he asked the question "Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?" I voted for him again. I did not vote for Obama the first time, nor the second. It was the day he put Michael Taylor in charge of the FDA, that he lost my vote. And there was nothing he could do to get it back. Hillary has a shot at getting two votes from me.
