I believe that most of the impact of bile acids occurs in the small intestine and reabsorption occurs in the large intestine. Fatty acids can affect both small and large intestine. As to the effect of both on peristalsis, I'm not certain about that. Eventually, everything effects everything else. Most peristalsis is under the control of the parasympathetic nervous system
