There is a bromine factor to this as well. A chemical version of bromine is part of the solvent added to extract the Canola oil.

I spent a few days on this and even posted a video where they showed the second pressing WITH solvents..

..anyhow I can now recommend Canola Oil as a great sticky label remover.. apparently the solvents left in the oil can remove any stubborn price label faster and more effectively than pure grain alcohol.. no household should be without this industrial solvent, just keep it away from food..
