Re: Headaches, weepy, depressed...
Oh Bella do be careful - if your
Depression gets worse, I hope you will consider that the Nutritional Balancing concept is a good idea and can help improve diet by getting people off sugars, etc., but I have concerns about the blanket "one size fits all" diet that is prescribed.
There are some people who simply need more carbs in their diet than Dr. Wilson allows. Carbs produce serotonin and endorphins and many on diets that restrict intake and prescribe only protein and vegetables find seriously worsening
Depression that does not get better until they boost their carb uptake. We are all so individually made! Sometimes when we feel worse it isn't a "healing crisis" at all - it just means our bodies desperately need a more balanced approach and cannot thrive without a bit more fruit or brown rice or even gluten-free toast, etc
I personally became so depressed after four days of this diet protocol that my dad reminded me of my mom's need for balanced carb intake for her mental health (apparently she had become suicidal after a veggie/protein/supplement approach and was only helped by the introduction of more carbs). I know Dr. Wilson and Dr. Eck are well-meaning and MOST people are going to feel better by eating more vegetables and cutting back on a lot of fatty foods and refined sugars and taking some great supplements. If
Depression gets worse and worse, however, I hope anyone reading this is affirmed that not all body chemistry is equal and the diet may be too low carb for you to thrive on.
