Wow. That is very intense. But something doesn't add up here. I have a friend who is out of work and without insurance, but she is getting treatment for her cancer. I didn't ask how, but I assume it has something to do with Medicaid.

This must be your ex-wife..and an adult son? For him to say something so strong on father's day...there must be something else going on as it is unrealistic for him to think ill of you for not have 100,000 or so lying around that you could donate. Unless, of course, you are a multi millionaire. Assuming you are a man of normal means...it isn't rational to put so much blame on you. Maybe you need to adjust you attitude...to that of wanting to help... of doing what ever you can..emotional support, groceries...help in finding sources of treatment...encouragement to try holistic therapies... whatever. Things that show you have empathy and are not just shrugging your shoulders and walking off...as you son's words seem to imply.
