Re: I want to get rid of my body odor!

Hi,

It sounds from your answers as if you have low estrogen, as low estrogen in menopausal women is what causes the night sweats and hot flushes.

Estrogen is predominant hormone after menstruation and before ovulation. Progesterone kicks in at ovulation.
Estrogen is lowest during blood flow and you might find you experience night sweats or more excessive day sweating?

Do you sweat excessively generally? Or is it normal production? I've experienced excessive sweat and more smellier with hormonal imbalances.

You could be low in estrogen aswell as be 'estrogen-dominant' - which i know sounds illogical but if you factor in that you could be very low in progesterone, then your estrogen level, even though it's not as it's proper levels is still higher than your progesterone.

Also as you mention top lip hair i would guess that testosterone might be at the right level, but IF you have low estrogen and progesterone, then testosterone will also be dominant.
I've experienced 3 chin hairs growing this year as my hormones have been going way out of balance...i'm hoping i don't end up with a beard!!

The best way to determine if it is a hormonal imbalance is to get a saliva estrogen/testosterone/progesterone test done. It really is worth doing while you are young to catch any imbalances before they become unmanageable.
Really do consider pushing your doctor to get an assessment of your hormones.

It is possible to get a full monthly cycle saliva test done for hormones to be able to better map your monthly hormone curve, as they change throughout the cycle. I think this type of test takes around 12 saliva samples.

Your flow length sounds quite long...yet as you did not mention any uncomfortable symptoms with that or ovulation that could be normal for you. We're all different and what's abnormal is when your pattern of flow changes. That's when all women need to take note as it indicates a hormonal shift.

If it is not hormonal then perhaps look into the enzyme defects that are common in people who experience smelly sweat...like TMAU. If the enzymes are not working to break down the waste products in the body to be passed in urine or stools, then the other elimination channel the body has is the skin, which is the body's last ditch attempt to get rid of waste - so sweat will take on a smell.

As you've said you've been so conscious of eating well/detoxing for a long time and you're still suffering with no change in symptoms then your diet is not to blame. There's too much emphasis on the premise that
'clean diet = no health issues' and that is absolute crap...to be blunt.
There are many many reasons aside from diet why we experience health issues.
It's just EASIER to change the diet to a more cleansing one in order to rule-out any food choices which could be causing such imbalances.

As you're only 16 and haven't had time to accumulate a life time of crappy eating, and you're change in diet has not shifted your symptom at all then i would look to hormones and enzyme imbalances.
