Will it help after or only before exposure. And is kelp the only seaweed that helps or all seaweeds?
I know the Japanese also used this
Herbalist Brigitte Mars says, “Following the bombing of Nagasaki, a group of surviving macrobiotic doctors and their patients avoided radiation sickness by eating brown rice, miso and seaweed. They also did not get leukemia.”
Reportedly, some people survived the atomic bomb, without ill effects, on a diet of seaweed and miso. Seaweed may help protect people from absorbing radiation because of its balance of minerals as well as its fiber. Fermented foods such as miso can also help. Another food is buckwheat. It contains an anti-oxidant that may help people stay healthy when bombarded with radiation, whether from the sun or nuclear reactors.
