Re: Horrible Scalp Odour - SAL3 Soap

No I haven't tried it, but very interested in what your scalp smells like. I, too, have scalp odor that has a fungal smell caused by dental fillings. I use coconut shampoo because coconut contains lauric acid which is great for eliminating fungus.

Yesterday I created an herbal formula that I put on my scalp before applying a hot towel that I saturated in hot water scented with rosemary essential oil. I put the herbal solution on my entire scalp before applying the hot towel and over that, a plastic bag to hold in the heat. I rested for 1 hour before washing my hair. The outcome was the odor increased and then settled down a few hours later, I think.... I'll share the formula after testing it for 1 month and will report the outcome.

In the interim, try applying anti-fungal essential oils in a carrier oil, like Vit E, onto your scalp, wrap your head with a hot wet towel (wring it out first!) that you cover with plastic. Rest for 1 hour before washing it out. You can also try adding grapefruit seed extract (a very effective anti-fungal) to your shampoo and also take it by mouth with a little filtered water. Don't forget to take probiotics to balance the yeast.

Let me know if you make any progress.

Best wishes.
