Re: Orthomolecular testing
Hi Paulette,
I think Orthomolecular can be very revealing, especially if you have no idea about your histamine, amino acid levels etc.
It's another nutritional angle, just like hair testing...so can only help to give a fuller picture of your health.
Here in Ireland a doc charges around 300 euros to do a full ortho. panel. You should find in the US that prices perhaps are competitive due to wider choice of test centres.
Histamine for instance is a bitch of a thing to suffer with and as it's a neurotransmitter too, when too high or low can create such an array of symptoms it's easy to think it's something else.
Histamine Intolerance is something i have trouble with which only makes the anxiety i get more severe. When i'm very careful and low with my intake of histamine foods and environmental histamine triggers, i feel much calmer.
I actually was including a lot of high histamine foods in my diet without realising.
A few anti-anxiety meds work by blocking histamine receptors. Histamine binds to 4 receptors that trigger different parts of the body. AF and high histamine are closely linked.
Ironically most docs don't recognise
Histamine Intolerance , yet will diagnose anxiety disorder and give histamine blocking anti-anxiety meds.
