Homemade Natural Weed Killer
This stuff really works!
I had been searching out all kinds of natural remedies and came across a recipe for a weed killer using natural household ingredients.
I had some dandelions in the front yard that were really bugging me. I was out of weedkiller so I decided to give it a try and see if this concoction would work.
This is the recipe: 2 cups vinegar, 1 tablespoon dish soap,1 tablespoon salt. I put in a spray bottle and squirted the annoying weeds. To my delight, the next day they were totally brown, shriveled, and completely dead!
This makes me happy, happy, happy. I will never buy the commercial stuff again. This is so much cheaper and safer. Much better for the environment. Not to mention, easily made with stuff I can find right in my kitchen pantry.
Now I just have to stock up my supplies so I can double or quadruple the recipe for this season. I had only enough vinegar for the basic recipe and went through it rather quickly as I went a bit crazy spraying the weeds in my yard!
What I used was a generic brand white vinegar (buy jugs, it's a lot cheaper), Dawn dishwashing liquid (blue), and regular salt. I'm sure any brands would work.
Oh boy, now I'm on a mission! Bye bye ugly weeds!
