If there is an inbalance, this can (and is in medication victims) be down to the gaba receptors in ones brain that have regressed as the brain thought they were no longer needed (because the benzos created all the gaba needed and then some). So the body and brain, as Amber said, needs to be coerced into regrowing the receptors.
