I am lucky that no dr ever suggested antidepressants....one actually told me it would not be a good idea as it masks what is wrong so its hard to then fix it which made perfect sense. And why would someone need antidepressants for what is clearly a hormone imbalance???
I think they are reluctant to prescribe estrogen without progesterone as it gets such a bad wrap cancer wise but in my dr's words "i dont do well on synthetic progesterone" and I am ovulating but not well ie am releasing some progesterone but not anywhere near my pre mirena levels (but hopefuly enough to offset the small amount of estrogen I am taking.
Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon. I think the lack of reasons is the hardest part to take in this process.
Just think of how far you have come. I also believe that our bodies have been through so much that it will take time to fully recover in terms of resilience to anxiety ie the body is so used to something being wrong and releasing chemicals which trigger the anxiety that it has to take time to wind down again.
