Re: Anxiety- 3 months post removal

I to suffered major anxiety attacks during and post Mirena. They would creep up on me even in the middle of the night. I ended up in the ER twice because they made me feel like I was having a stroke or heart attack. Awful! I was also told it was phsycological and was incouraged to take anti anxiety meds. I refused because I was scared to put anything else in my body that may(like the Mirena) cause other side affects. It has now been over 4 years and all though I feel much, much better, I am still not 100 percent. I believe it was the progestin in the mirena that caused me to have very low progesterone levels - hence the anxiety and other symptoms. After doing a lot of research I have made an appointment with a hormone specialist and hope to resolve this. Hang in there! I suggest you see a hormone specialist and hopefully get on a faster track to feeling well than I did!
