strains such as albicans have to be kept in check. Types like C.glabrata are human pathogens and have to be eradicated completely from the body. My Infectious Disease doc would have put me in hospital, but was afraid I'd get sicker (it's very common to catch C. glabrata while hospitalized). I've been told my the ID doc that alkaline is the way at least for ME (YMMV-your mileage may vary). My urine is VERY acid, I had to buy scientific pH sticks that go down to 2.0 and my urine was in fact, down to 2.5 (no wonder it burns). The urologist says that he acid urine is aggravating my Interstitial Cystitis. We're not all "otherwise healthy" on these fora.
