My recent understanding is that even if most zappers are not able to kill helminths in a short period of time because the allowed intensity is too low or the frequency is not adequate to damage them, a small current with a frequency may help to disturb/stun the worms. The advantage of this is that it may weaken their ability to hide from/trick the immune system cells and then the immune system cells are able to detect the foreign organism as a threat and to build weapons/mechanisms to kill them.

But it may be really really slow to use this approach against big parasitic worms, or worms hidding in places where there is poor current flow.

I am sure this tech can be greatly improved, it is just the beginning.
