I just came across this old tread in a pinworm search. I was looking for other people that actually had it longer than a month. You are all right doctors are useless and think your crazy if you take all the meds and its still not gone. The first time I got this was a few years ago, I went to the ER since my family doc refused to believe I had them that long. I lied and said I had tapeworms. They said it was so uncommon they didn't believe it yet refused to take a stool sample. After threatening to sue, sitting in the decontamination room (where they treated me like an aids patient) I finally received a stronger med than what they wanted to give me. 3 days straight of albenza with a repeat dose in 2 weeks killed those god awful pinworms.

Anyhow years later again I'm cursed with them along with the 2 kids and bf. I have daily sanitized everything in the whole house, scrubbed, vacuumed, sprayed for an entire month. Drove myself insane digging worms out of my 5 yr old daughters ass. I took seven bottles of Reese's pyrantel pamoate (think I spelled it right) dosed myself everyday for 2 weeks. Even tried another OTC med. Nothing I did mattered, its almost two months later of constant itching from that female worm that squirms around my ass hole. It does provide relief for a few hours, but had severe stomach cramps/the shits. Didn't see eggs for a few days, but they always return. Colon cleaners, enigmas, none of it worked except albenza the first time which they don't give me again. The 3 yr old was the only one least affected, with no symptoms (the runs/cramps) from the pyrantel pamoate. The meds actually worked on her but not the rest of us. Tweet
