Re: questions on your program

1 - Collidal silver in my book is recommended more so for vaginal treatment (thrush), and then in very small amounts. Yes, there is a lot of nonsense written about the toxicity of colloidal silver, but tap water is probably more toxic, especially if you live in a big city and drink plenty of it. You may want to check out the silversafety.org website and work out exactly your own daily, weekly or annual limit of how much is OK to use.
Dr. Jeffrey Blumer, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Center for Drug Research (the world's largest clinical research center for drugs) and former director of the Greater Cleveland Poison Control Center, has this to say about colloidal silver:"With normal responsible usage, silver supplements are entirely harmless to humans."

2 - Garlic. I have never seen the beneficials decline in repeated stool tests in those who use raw garlic, especially L.acid. All speculation in my opinion, probably petrie dish rat study validation once more.

Garlic in fact has the ability to act as a pre-biotic. There is always the possibility of knocking off a certain level of beneficials, but what some folks don't even know if that powerful probiotics actually can do this as well, they tend to "shuffle" the intestinal flora deck so to speak and help "re-arrange" the bowel flora to a degree, which means some beneficial levels increase, and some decrease. I have certainly seen this with repeated stool studies. There are some small niche stool labs in England and Australia which have done some stool testing for me, and you'd be stunned to see how healthy foods like yogurt and sauerkraut have the ability to manipulate and re-arrange a person's microflora. And you worry about garlic?? Let me tell you, garlic is the only food I know that acts like napalm in the small intestine, it rocks - BUT, the trick is to find the right amount for you. Some do well on a few small slices of raw garlic, whereas others need several cloves a day. You don't want to overdo it here as allergies are always a possibility. I have not seen garlic counter the effects of a good probiotic to be honest, and couldn't care much for any studies that say anything different.

3. Why would you assume that candida may be more dominant in the upper GI? In fact the lower GI is where the love to live, we call this fermentative dysbiosis. But candida can live anywhere in or on a persons body, and it depends on a myriad of factors. The upper GI tends to be somewhat more more hostile to candida due to fluctuating pH levels, more so than the lower regions which are more stable. Yeast like stability, warmth, food and darkness and can actually live anywhere - in a low or high pH environment, but do prefer a slightly more alkaline environment depending on the species. They are highly adaptable. Vitamins are very important for too many reasons to mention, and I always like recommending a great multi for candida patients. They don't "feed" candida as is believed, unless the multi contains sugars which some do.
