Re: Sinus remedies
For years I suffered from lots of colds, the flu, allergies and other illnesses and they all seemed to start with sinus congestion and post nasal drip. I visited lots of doctors, tried all the usual remedies and spent a small fortune on prescriptions and over-the-counter stuff.
A little over a year ago I went to an ENT doctor who told me to stop taking all the allergy and decongestant pills and sprays and concentrate on getting myself more hydrated. His orders were to 1. drink more fluids, 2. flush my sinuses with a saline solution, and 3. inhale steam 3-to-4 times a day.
Doing these three things regularly has really worked for me. I have basically eliminated the nasal congestion and post nasal drip and haven't had a cold or the flu in over a year . . . and done so without all the pills and sprays that I used to use. For the first time in years I feel pretty confident that I know how to avoid colds, the flu and all the other stuff that used to plague me.
The hardest part was the steam inhalation, it was just too inconvenient to do 3-to-4 times a day. But then I found a steam inhaler that was convenient to use, and it's made all the difference. I've been so impressed with what it's done for me that I wanted to share my experience, so I wrote it all down.
