Did you also have to go on the candida diet while taking the medication?
Celiac disease and candida overgrowth are related. Increased candida antibodies show up in my blood test.

"People with celiac disease are always at risk for developing a Candida albicans yeast infection. The best defense is to maintain a strict nutritious gluten-free diet bolstered with probiotic and prebiotic food and a daily 100% vitamin/mineral supplement."
"For those with celiac disease who continue to have symptoms though they have avoided all gluten, Candida is an item to look at. Perhaps avoiding sugar, and maybe even yeast, may be your ticket to being symptom free!"

"Patients should apply a barrier moisturizer to the lips frequently. Try petroleum jelly or zinc oxide ointments, especially before bed and meals. Topical antifungals that are effective against yeasts are the mainstay of therapy. Clotrimazole and nystatin creams are good options. If these are ineffective, oral antifungals, e.g. fluconazole, should be considered."
