Re: How to reverse effects of HCL supplementation damage?
Hi Sans, thanks for the reply.
I have found something that looks very interesting too, Polaprezinc. It is a prescription drug in Japan used to treat ulcers - as it helps speed up the repair process (and also inhibits H Pylori), take a look at this:

It can be found in most countries as a health food supplement, usually called PepZinGl (full brand name: Doctor's Best, PepZinGl, Zinc-L-Carnosine Complex, 120 Veggie Caps).
What do you think? There are lots of studies about it being effective which makes it look promising. I think I might order some.
I agree with you about the PPIs - I detest taking them, but the pain I get when I stop is unbearable :( especially the pains in my head. I'm guessing I have ulceration near or on a nerve or artery :(( desperately want to get an endoscopy just so I know exactly what's going on.
Btw, this is a great article on HCL damage

it certainly rings true for my case unfortunately.
Thanks for the suggestions, intestinew looks good - I already take L Glutamine which I find helps quite a bit.
I will hold off taking anything that encourages acid production for now as I suspect that if I do have
Gallstones my body won't be producing enough bile to neutralise it -
Gallstones seem to have come at the worse time for me!
I will look at the other supplements too - thanks for posting :)
