What kind of worm?

What kind or type of parasitic worm likes to hang out and live in the face? Some of what I have look like a dark bit of string under the skin. Then there are these off white, kinda flat ones that have parked in he skin of my face and died. I saw some once under the skin of my chest, after I'd done something like pour vinegar on the face. They were so long, about 4 in. And not skinny, there were 5 of them.
I guess you gotta ID the enemy before you kll.
