Dermatology Appointment

So I went to my derm. appointment today and talked to the doctor about MikePylon's specialist's treatment.

He said its a great idea, but we couldn't find the Prevex HC. He even called his friend who is a pharmacist and he didnt know of it.

Mike tell me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember you said that Prevex HC is a prescription? And that its just Prevex (over the counter emollient like Vaseline?) and HC 1%. Am I right?

Well in the U.S. hydrocortisone 1% is over the counter. So even if we had Prevex HC in the U.S. I guess it wouldn't be a prescription.

So since we couldn't find that exact product I just asked him to prescribe me the strongest steroid that is safe for long term use. I believe it's 2.5% but ill post th exact prescription when I get home.

Anyways he said steroids and their potency can differ because different steroids have different compositions. So one that is 2.5% may not be as potent as another that is just 2%.

Anyways I will use this steroid over the next few months and if it gets better then I will taper off using an over the counter HC 1%. Tweet
