To me, sorghum and maple syrup when made correct will last forever. The Maple Syrup guy has a 1/2 gallon of Syrup his grandpa made many, many years ago and it is still just fine. The same with honey, when done right, the worse thing you have to do is reheat it.
The ancient books explains bad times can come in 7s, so your food should be able to last 7 years naturally. Dried properly most human foods will last 7 years.
