Home Remedy for Toenail Fungus
As a Type II diabetic yellowing, thickening, and fungus of the toenails are just one of the many "complications" one may have to deal with on a regular basis. I have probably tried every home remedy there is. Yes, my feet have been guinea pigs for many alternative foot fungal treatments over the years. From Listerine to alcohol, to tea tree oil, I have come up with remedy that works for me very effectively.
Needless to say, a diabetic has to be especially careful with their feet and related care. I get my toenails clipped and filed regularly by a podiatrist. And, I DO NOT recommend any diabetic to cut their own toenails. With that being said, this raw apple cider vinegar foot soak, infused with a spoonful of Manuka or RAW honey, tea tree oil, peppermint oil (a drop or two), and black seed oil does the trick.
Using very warm (not hot) distilled water, mix the ingredients above in a basin, covering the toes especially. Soak feet for several minutes. After toweling feet dry, brush toe nails with black seed oil and allow to fully absorb and dry. For best results, toenails should be cut and filed first. Again, I recommend those diabetics prone to toenail fungus to have this done by a podiatrist.
Please note that foot soak is effective even without the peppermint oil.
