Personal opinion only, but the two are contradictory. How is your body supposed to rest and rejuvenate on every level when you are taxing it to extremes with hot yoga sessions IF you can do them?
Rest, meditation and letting your body do it's work without your interference is what I have found worked best on any successful fast that I completed. Adding, changing, having agendas derailed the fast and the psyche for me immediately, so I did not fast successfully, even for a day.
