Re: Fasting one day a week?

Sunrise to Sunset is generally 12 hours. Most people, unless they are late night eaters and constant snackers will "fast" for 12 hours each day.

This is a standard body function. Since it generally takes 72 hours of zero carbohydrates for the body to go into ketosis and begin using protein and fat as the primary energy source, you will not experience muscle wasting in a 12 hour period of not eating.

Your body will turn to fat stores for energy before it turns to protein after the carbohydrates are depleted.
