Thanks a lot for your answers, I really appreciate it!
I know my problem first started last September. Not really sure why – maybe the Antibiotics I was on? But it has lasted since, with no improvements. And the main things that lead me to question if it is EC or not, is the amount of pain and burn I feel, and the total absence of a peeling cycle. I mean, I peel the lips, and 1 hour later they become crusty again… not the mention how my lips can’t stand lips balms or Vaseline.

Longterm: yes, I do mean thick white skin (dead skin, I guess). Do they hurt when you touch them? And can you fully speak or eat with no discomfort? My problem is that getting precise blood tests – really specific ones, I mean – is almost impossible in my country. Our health system sucks. And most gels or creams that people seem to be speaking about in this forum or over the internet don’t exist here, so I am really limited when trying different healing methods or so… I had hope that this could be some sort of fungal or bacterial infection, and that it could be curable with some antifungal creams or medicine, but now I doubt it…

MikePylon: I don’t know if I would call them scabs or crusts, but they are hard as hell and they never peel. They just stand there, and they are impossible to live with. They make my lips so dry and hard that they crack when I speak or smile…
