Re: Mirena and Seizures

I have a friend that had the IUD inserted in 2007 and started having seizures in 2010. She had the IUD removed May 2012. She didn't have any history of seizures. She was put on topomax (which didn't help at all) Then about 2 years into her having her seizures they added a 2nd medication called lamicatal. Her seizures changed in the sense that they became less severe but she started having more frequent seizures. Then in September 2012, they started weening her off of lamictal and increasing her topomax. Long story short, she passed away December 7, 2012 in her sleep. The autopsy isn't back yet, but we believe that she had a seizure in her sleep.
